In our first open call, we invited you to submit symbols around Palestinian culture to create characters for a unique dingbat font to collect donations for Palestine. This beta font is now created, and we invite you this time to participate in a collaborative RISO calendar using this unicode font. You can either use just a single character from it and add your own illustrations and designs, or use the entire font. We will send you the font; please ask for it via hello@glyphs4gaza.org. We want to make it available for donation on our website in the future; that's why we cannot just have it here for download. The calendar will be sold at the XTRATERRESTRIAL ZINE FAIR in Rotterdam on the 6 & 7 February, 2027.

The format of your design should be 180 mm (width) x 230 mm (height). The calendarium (weekdays, month name) we make (see below), resolution in 400 dpi, and files please in PDF.

The calendar will be printed on white paper with JUST two colors: red and green and no black. Please design with ONLY these two colors. RISO files have to be prepared in a specific way (it's super easy). Please find a description here, or write us or send an InDesign/PS/Illustrator/Affinity/GIMP/etc. file to us, and we will prepare it for you! :)

Please avoid seasonal design so we avoid month duplications. We will sort everything in the end, and your design gets its month assigned by us. We also ask you to avoid any usage of generated images and AI slop <3 Send us also your name/nickname/artist name you want to display and your website or Mastodon or Instagram you want to see on your page. Send us your files via swisstransfer (or other transfer) to hello@glyphs4gaza.org, INCLUDING your displayed name and social media info.

It goes without saying that we won’t be accepting any submissions that contain racist, antisemitic, sexist or ableist content!
